Description
1 x Pitaya – Hylocereus costaricensis Dragon Fruit Plant
Average size 15-20cm
These may be rooted or unrooted cuttings – sent bare-rooted.
Red skin with Red flesh: Hylocereus costaricensis is a larger growing plant with smooth, less prickly limbs. Large fruit, sweet, juicy and very tasty.
Homegrown fruit tastes much better than the supermarket produce.
You cannot go wrong with any of these varieties – all produce beautiful aromatic fruit 🙂
- This is another great permaculture perennial, excellent low maintenance food production. Does well in large pots raised about a metre off the ground so the limbs can hang down – great way to get fruit.
- Does best in full sun but grows well in part shade.
- Beautiful cactus all year, even better once it flowers. Lovely scented flowers.
- All of our plant products are grown organically in Queensland – no chemicals at all.
Planting info:
Plant cut end about 3-5cm deep into mixture of sand and compost (or potting mix). Do not water until you see new growth – this means roots have developed. Can then be watered as normal.
This cactus species can tolerate more water than most cactus, especially if they are in full sun.
Shipping info:
Plants will only be sent out on Mondays (All locations) and Tuesdays (QLD/ Northern NSW only) to minimize the risk of being stuck in transit over the weekend.
Please be aware of your local laws/restrictions on the import of botanical products.

Happy Gardening 🙂
